Earlier this year, I shared that our board and key staff had updated The Dwelling Place vision, mission and purpose. Blog post
Guiding Principles and Values
In addition to this, we have now created guiding principles and values that inform our ministry operations regarding: how we select and on-board staff, volunteers, and board members; how we interact with each other and the women and children under our care; and how we steward the resources God has entrusted to us.
These guiding principles and values are:
- God Honoring through Stewardship
- Nurturing and Motivating
Our strategic planning is complete, and through this we created goals for 12-18 months, 2-3 years, and 4-5 years (along with action plans to support the 12-18 month goals.)
This plan serves to establish a firm foundation upon which we build the ministry, enabling us to serve even more women and children!
Each time segment identifies goals in the areas of 1) Staff and Volunteer Development, 2) Partnerships and Ministry Expansion, and 3) Best Practice Program Development and Success Metrics.
Since April, we actively progressed in the following areas:
- Staff orientation and training process
- Identifying roles, expectations, and acquisition strategy for volunteers
- Children’s Program structure and design
- Revision for the intake process of new residents
- Creation of a solid budget and forecasting tool and process
- Implementation of a platform for fundraising and volunteer management
I continue to be humbled at how the Lord brings together so many talented and dedicated volunteers and staff, church and community partners, individual donors and family foundations, to achieve His purposes.
