Many thanks to Chyeral, Jan, and Gloria (pictured), and 70+ Lutheran Women Missionary League (LWML) women from the Owatonna Conference of the LWML (Lutheran Women Missionary League) for your support of The Dwelling Place!

On September 15th, Monica Groves, our mission advancement director, visited their Conference Rally in Albert Lea and shared about The Dwelling Place.

At the rally, this wonderful group of women donated much-needed items.

Their generosity encourages us and blesses the women and children we serve! Thank you ladies!

South Shore Trinity Lutheran Church Visit

South Shore Trinity.jpg

ON Sunday, August 19th, Monica Groves, our Mission Advancement Director, shared the mission and impact of The Dwelling Place at South Shore Trinity Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake.

The Dwelling Place was invited to participate in their 75th Anniversary year celebration as one of the organizations supported through the church.

South Shore Trinity supports the mission ministry of The Dwelling Place through it's Trinity Guild.

We are so grateful for the support and encouragement provided by the local church, and we celebrate God's faithfulness to and through this congregation for 75 years! May God be honored and praised in every way as He continues to lead and guide!

We are so thankful for those who support this ministry!

A big thank you to Steven and Pauline Lacher for donating a van!

This van will be given to one of our residents who needs it, and will be very helpful in breaking down some barriers for her in getting to work, school, daycare, etc. It really is a life-changing gift at this juncture of her journey.

God is so good!

A Gift Card Makes All the Difference!

If you're wondering how you can help...

Here's one important way that equips our homes with basic supplies and enables our mothers to provide for specific needs.

At this time of year gift cards are a huge help for:

  • School supplies
  • School clothes: children grow and the clothes from last year no longer fit
  • Seasonal clothing: soon our children and women will need jackets, warmer clothing, and eventually (yes, it's true), mittens and scarves

Walmart, Target, Kohl's and Cub gift cards are most helpful.

Just click here to purchase a gift card or donate other needed items.

Thank you for helping our families prepare for autumn!

When Kailee and Josh met at our 2016 Gala, their relationship began.

In June of 2018, Josh and Kailee got married, and at their reception they set up a Kissing Jar for donations to The Dwelling Place (their sweet way of acknowledging how God used The Dwelling Place Gala to bring them together).

God bless you, Josh and Kailee, with joy in your Christ-centered marriage!

We love you and are grateful to God for including The Dwelling Place in your story and your celebration!

If you'd like to explore ways you can take donations at one of your events, please visit our How Can You Help? page or contact Development Director, Monica Groves at

A Note from Linda...

Executive Director, Linda Wiza

Executive Director, Linda Wiza

Throughout this year we have experienced the pleasure of seeing many volunteers work to renovate Esther’s Place, our newest home (which opened in May) where we are able to support up to 14 women and children.

We have watched women and children grow in their knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, heal from the trauma of abuse, and prepare for their new lives, free from abuse.

With the additional families we have many more toddlers as well as a baby on the way. It is so heart-warming to see these little lives and know that they have a much better future.

The Lord is changing their story right before our eyes!

I know you don’t get to see and experience this first hand so I want to help you know the significant impact your support is really making. Here are just a few recent quotes from our residents:

  • "The program helped me a lot to heal and understand and believe in God's way to handle the struggles and battles we fight in this life.”

  • "My faith has been renewed and strengthened, my healing has continued and I have the joy back in my life that has been missing for so long.”

  • "I can't thank you enough for standing by me in my deepest need when I had to leave my home and my babies were so sick. Now I see how the Lord has provided for my apartment and income!  I feel so blessed."

  • “Here at The Dwelling Place, you just give so much hope. I can see a future now and the things I prayed to God for coming true.”

If you'd like to join in helping other women be free from abuse and heal from trauma, please check out our How You Can Help page.
