For those of you who have not yet heard about us, The Dwelling Place is a shelter ministry for women and children who are in need of immediate safety. We offer families a safe place to reside during times of distress. It is an environment that enables families to recover from the effects of domestic violence through education and Christ centered programming.
Our shelter opened in November of 1998 in the St. Paul area. Currently we offer one shelter for those in crisis and a second one to further assist families in transition. During this time a women may take steps to re enter the work or educational world in order to regain stability.
The average stay per family is 3 months in the crisis shelter and an additional 6 months in our transitional facility.
Your donations help us support these families during their stay with us.
A donation of:
$3000.00- supports families in the crisis shelter for one month.
$1000.00- supports families in the transitional house for six months.
$500.00-provides food for one month for families in the crisis shelter.
$100.00-provides shoes/clothing for a mother and child.
