A Minnesota based ladies off-road club has selected The Dwelling Place to support with their holiday gathering. Their theme: "Lifting ladies up as high as our heels and our rigs" will provide financial support for the women and children of The Dwelling Place. Held at Duke's Pizza in Oakdale.

Sponsored by the Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women, the Memorial was held at the St. Paul Women's Club on Summit Avenue on January 31. In 2016, at least 18 women and 3 children/men were murdered in Minnesota due to domestic violence. The memorial is held in connection with the release of the 2016 Femicide Report provided by the MCBW (link provided on our website.) Monica Groves, Mission Advancement Director, attended the memorial on behalf of The Dwelling Place.
Mission Advancement Director, Monica Groves, shared the annual "Advent by Candlelight" event with the women of Living Christ Lutheran Church in Chanhassen, MN. They provided a wonderful afternoon with a holiday tea and a beautiful service of music and scripture. The "Advent by Candlelight" event provided support for The Dwelling Place. Thank you, Living Christ Lutheran Church!
Linda Wiza, Kristen Nelson, and Monica Groves from The Dwelling Place will join with the Presbyterian Women of the Twin Cities at Calvin Presbyterian Church; 177 Glendale Drive; Long Lake, MN 55356 on Saturday, October 15 to address the topic of domestic abuse and violence and to share how God is transforming lives through Christ's love at The Dwelling Place where women and children have a safe place to call home and the support that helps them move toward abuse-free living.
On Saturday, October 15 the Lutheran Women's Missionary Association (Twin Cities) will gather at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Anoka, MN where The Dwelling Place will provide Ministry Updates along with a presentation on the importance of ministry to those who have experienced abuse.
Grace Church (Eden Prairie) will have a team at The Dwelling Place as part of their BIG SERVE event on Saturday, October 8. We are so grateful for the support, generosity, and planning to create a more beautiful and safe living environment for the women and children staying with us. Thank you, Grace Church!
The Dwelling Place ministry will be in the exhibit area at ENGAGE!, the upcoming Minnesota Church Expo sponsored by the Minnesota Church Ministries Association (M.C.M.A) on October 1.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®: The International Men’s March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault, & Gender Violence
Join the march on May 21, 2016, to help raise awareness about domestic and sexual violence. All proceeds will be donated to the Alexandra House. The walk will take place on May 21, 2016 at 10:00 am at 2015 1st Avenue, Anoka, MN 55303. There are many ways you can participate:

On April 9, 2016 Executive Director, Linda Wiza, will speak at the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League Waseca Zone Spring Rally at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf, MN. Conference attendees will collect basic needs for our women and children.
