In 2023, over 215 volunteers served for a total of 6,270 hours at The Dwelling Place. Providing a safe home and lasting freedom from abuse for our women and children would not be possible without our generous volunteers.
Volunteer Opportunities
Renovation Project
The Dwelling Place is in renovation mode! We are currently needing many hands and able bodies to help with demolition, lifting concrete chunks, and digging (post holes, egress windows). As the project continues, we will need help with rebuilding interior spaces, installing sheetrock, cabinetry, flooring, etc. Click below to get on our Renovation list, and take the fast track to signing up for the area or time block that fits!
Prayer Team
We are seeking an army of prayer warriors. The Prayer Team Ministry meets virtually, once per month to pray for residents, staff and leadership, volunteers, and many others involved at The Dwelling Place.
Kids Club
Interactive programming and life skills development for elementary-age students.
Tutoring
Help our children achieve academic success while building trust in mentor-like relationships.
Mentor-Friends
Developing healthy friendships with one of the women in our program; it’s as simple as meeting for coffee, running errands, or engaging in activities together.
Program House Cleaning
Light cleaning of floors, kitchen and bathrooms during weekdays 8:00-5:00 PM.
Groundskeeping/Yard Work
We need consistent helpers to help with mowing, trimming, general lawn maintenance and upkeep.
Event Planning
The Dwelling Place offers a variety of ways for volunteers to serve within our program and development areas that address various needs.
The Dwelling Place provides trauma-informed care for our women and children. Specific safeguards are implemented in our volunteer process to insure the safety and best care for our residents.
We conduct background and reference checks on all volunteers for the safety of our women and children.
We provide Volunteer Training for all volunteers and determine the extent of training by the specific area where a volunteer will serve.
We thank God for each person who invests in the healing and well-being of our women and children.
